What is an arm lift?

Brachioplasty or arm lift, tightens the loose skin and removes the excess fat in the upper arms. Brachioplasty is indicated in cases where exercise and diet cannot deal with excess fat and loose skin in the upper arms especially when significant recent weight loss is the reason for this. The skin incisions run along the inner arm and end up hidden inside the axilla. Liposuction can help maximize the results and in selected cases it can be sufficient by itself.

How long will the results of an arm lift last?

Results can be long-term although changes in body weight and/or pregnancy can alter your appearance.

What to Expect From

Brachioplasty is done under general anesthesia and an overnight stay might be necessary especially when combined with other procedures.

Return to everyday activities can start gradually from the 1st post-op day and be completed within 1-2 weeks. The use of pressure garments is recommended after your surgery to help minimize fluid retention and swelling and to accelerate recovery.
