Our surgeons perform all facial contouring surgeries in the hospital or at our private operating facility. Your experience will vary depending on the procedures being performed, but surgery usually takes one to three hours, is performed under general anesthesia and allows you to return home the same day. 

Buccal fat pad removal is performed via an incision on the inside of your mouth, through which your surgeon will strategically remove the correct amount of buccal fat pad to enhance overall facial contours. Submental liposuction involves the removal of excess fat from the chin and jawline using a small metal tube (cannula) to restore an aesthetically pleasing contour. Finally, skin tightening—which may be applied internally during liposuction, or externally following the procedure using the Venus Versa platform, uses heat to naturally boost collagen production and tighten elastin, allowing us to further sculpt the face. 

Downtime following facial contouring surgery is usually minimal, but will vary significantly between patients and depending on the type of procedure performed. Your surgeon will provide you with customized guidelines to follow during your recovery, as well as oral pain medications and antibiotics based on your personal needs. In general, you can expect to return to normal activities by 1 week following your surgery, with moderate restrictions on heavy activity for an additional 2-3 weeks. Keep in mind it may take a few months before the full results of the procedure become evident.
