Aging
“I’m getting older, and I no longer recognize my own reflection in the mirror. I look tired, sad and angry. What options do I have?”Aging is a privilege, but that doesn’t mean the changes that come along with it are easy to accept. As time passes, collagen and elastin production slows and we begin to notice fine lines, wrinkles, volume loss, skin laxity and changes to our breasts and body contours. For some of us, the disparity between how we look and how we feel can greatly affect overall confidence and self-esteem. While our goal is never to “make you look 20 years younger”, we’re here to give you a refreshed, healthy, radiant look you’ll feel great about.
Aging, sun damage and genetics can have a strong impact on your face over time. Changes such as uneven pigment, dullness, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and loss of volume or definition are common.
For each of your aging concerns, we offer both surgical and non-surgical solutions such as injectables and laser treatments to restore a youthful, natural appearance. When it comes to aging skin, it’s especially important to pair your treatment or procedures with complementary skincare to first prepare your canvas, then boost and maintain your results every day.
Looking Tired
If you find that you permanently look tired no matter how much sleep you get, the eyes are one of the first areas we’ll look at addressing. If you have sagging skin or protruding fat pads around the eyes, blepharoplasty surgery on the upper and/or lower eyelids can correct these concerns.
If you have deep depressions under your eyes, known as tear troughs, a dermal filler treatment to this area is an excellent way to fill in these hollows and reduce the shadows that they cast, giving you a more rested appearance.
For an all-over boost in the vitality of your skin, our microneedling treatments use tiny needles to create micro-injuries in the skin, triggering the natural healing process and stimulating fresh collagen and elastin.
Because the skin around the eyes is so delicate, it’s important to give this area proper care. We recommend Skinbetter InterFuse® Treatment Cream EYE with caffeine, peptides, and Vitamin to hydrate, de-puff, and brighten for a refreshed appearance.
Sagging Skin
As the collagen and elastin that provides support to our skin diminishes and gravity takes hold, it’s natural for skin to begin to begin to sag, especially on the face and neck. To slow down this process, we recommend incorporating a firming skincare treatment like Skinbetter InterFuse® Face & Neck twice daily.
For early signs of sagging and wrinkling, we offer Skin Tightening treatments with our non-invasive Venus Versa technology. For a softened and sagging jawline, a dermal filler treatment can provide additional structure to this area for a more youthful appearance.
For advanced sagging, a surgical facelift may be the best option. While requiring several weeks of downtime, this is the most effective option to fully reposition loose skin on the face and neck and tighten the underlying facial muscles.
Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Lines and wrinkles are another very common aging concern. These often result from a combination of repeated facial expressions, sun damage over time, and the loss of collagen and elastin.
A very popular option to address specific areas of concern are neuromodulator treatments. These are injectable treatments that temporarily weaken facial muscles in the areas that often become deeply creased with age, including the forehead, crow’s feet, and frown lines. For widespread concerns, Skin Resurfacing or Microneedling treatments are an effective way to rejuvenate the entire face and/or neck at once.
At-home skincare can go a long way in preventing lines and wrinkles from forming or deepening. An excellent option is Skinbetter InterFuse® LINES, designed to plump out the skin with hyaluronic acid and a collagen-nourishing complex.
Sunspots and Pigmentation
As we get older, all the time we have spent in the sun can add up to visible UV damage in the form of brown spots and uneven tone. IPL is a tried and tested light-based treatment that can target this sun damage and restore the tone and vitality of your skin. Also known as Photorejuvenation or Photofacials, IPL treatments can be used for the face, décolletage, hands, and body. They are most effective when paired with daily skincare that works to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation, such as Skinbetter Even Tone Correcting Serum™.
Aging can bring about changes to many areas of the body including the abdomen, arms, and legs. Areas of loose skin and changes to body contours are common and can be addressed surgically. An abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), often paired with liposuction, removes excess fat and skin from the lower abdomen and tightens weak and loose abdominal muscles for a flatter, firmer appearance. A brachioplasty (arm lift) tightens loose skin and removes the excess fat in the upper arms, and a thighplasty (thigh lift) accomplishes the same result for the upper leg. A body lift can simultaneously address the abdomen, flanks, buttock and lateral thighs.
The aging process can bring about many changes to a woman’s breasts. Changes in size, shape, volume, and skin laxity can occur. Depending on the concern, there are many excellent options to correct these changes while maintaining a comfortable, natural-looking result. A breast augmentation can increase the size and/or improve the shape of the breast, whereas a breast lift is designed to lift the breast and nipple to a more proportionate, youthful position.
