The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree… At FORM, we have always prioritized warm and attentive patient care, and it’s evident that this approach resonates with our patients when we see family and friend referrals walk through our doors. In honour of Mother’s Day this month, we caught up with our patient Daniella and her mother Miranda, who both chose FORM for their surgical procedures. Read on to learn more about their experience with us, and what makes their mother-daughter relationship special.
What brought you to FORM, and how did you know our clinic was the right choice for you?
Daniella: I knew I needed a breast reduction and I wasn’t sure where to go to have this done. A friend recommended FORM to me, and when I visited the clinic, I was very happy with my experience. Everyone was really welcoming and kind.
Miranda: Well, I have to thank [Daniella] for that. At the time, I had had breast implants for about 17 years which I knew I wanted to exchange, but I kept putting the procedure off. After Daniella’s breast reduction, she beamed about the service here and recommended that I come too.
Are there any similarities or personality traits the two of you share?
Daniella: I think I can answer this pretty well. I think we have a similar sense of humour, compassion, and intellect. I appreciate my mom for those traits—they have helped to shape the woman I am today.
Miranda: She was really spot on with it, but I think that where we are quite different in our personalities is that I am introverted, while she is much more extroverted!
Can you tell us what your FORM experience was like?
Daniella: I felt like I was the only patient there. As strange as that may sound, everyone was really attentive to my needs and provided me with lots of information. They seemed understanding of my thoughts and feelings, and didn’t pressure me into doing anything. It was very comforting. I also really liked how my patient coordinator would text me to check up on me. It’s the little things that made the experience so much better, it showed that they really care.
Miranda: My experience is similar to Daniella, in that I felt very comfortable. I was previously the patient of another excellent plastic surgeon that Dr. Somogyi had worked closely with in the past, so I felt no need to go elsewhere. The whole process was easy.
What’s a favourite memory you’d like to share with each other in honour of Mother’s Day?
Miranda: There’s this one memory that comes up for me—even though I wasn’t physically there! When Daniella was younger, she went to the beach with her grandpa and was playing with him in the ocean. I was on the phone with him and heard her in the background saying “This is the best day of my life!” I don’t know why but I could just envision her saying that!
Daniella: Growing up, I never dealt with my problems that well, so I would always keep to myself. It was always really hard for me to handle stress, but my mom was a source of comfort for me. I always really appreciated her hugs. It was always so warm and enjoyable and it made all my problems seem less significant.
Thanks so much to Miranda and Daniella for sharing their stories!
