FORM Plastic Surgery Toronto Breaking the Stigma

Breaking the Stigma of Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery is becoming increasingly popular and more in demand than ever before. Forget the stereotype that plastic surgery is strictly reserved for celebrities, influencers, and socialites— people from all racial and ethnic backgrounds, jobs, and income levels are turning to plastic surgery to achieve their aesthetic goals. However, with tabloid media and shows like Botched fixating on the horror stories of surgical procedures gone wrong, it’s no wonder patients feel overwhelmed when searching for qualified Plastic Surgeons they can trust. We want patients to feel confident about pursuing their procedure of choice and changing their life for the better. That’s why we’re breaking down the stigma surrounding plastic surgery and revealing why everyday people are trusting FORM Face + Body to achieve their aesthetic goals.

Education, experience, and proficiency.

Choosing the right surgical team is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. Although numerous cosmetic surgery procedures are available in Canada, not all practitioners are Plastic Surgeons. It’s important that patients do their research and find out if their surgeon has the proper training and skills required to excel at performing their desired surgery.

Dr. Ron Somogyi and Dr. Waqqas Jalil have decades of training and experience in breast, body, and facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Patients can feel confident that our team has the proficiency and knowledge required to keep patients safe and minimize the risk of complications. Beyond their wealth of surgical experience, Dr. Somogyi and Jalil are thoughtful and thorough and maintain an active research interest in new and innovative techniques. Having both surgeons working so closely together is an incredible advantage to our patients.

Accredited state of the art facilities.

Quality of care is another critical component to achieving positive patient outcomes. In Canada, a Plastic Surgeon will complete your surgery in a hospital or a private clinic. By law, hospitals must follow specific standards and safety protocols. Private clinics are unregulated and may not be covered by the same rules. However, private clinics can choose to join the Canadian Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities (CAAASF) to be vetted and to ensure that surgical procedures are performed safely.

At FORM Face + Body, patient safety is of the utmost importance. Dr. Somogyi and Dr. Jalil only operate in fully licensed and accredited facilities. This ensures that your surgery is performed in a safe environment specifically designed to meet your surgical needs. After considering the procedures selected, your desires, and your medical history, we will recommend the best location for your procedure.

Collaborative treatment plans.

Booking a consultation directly with a board-certified Plastic Surgeon is another important step to achieving favourable results. The consultation is a patient’s opportunity to evaluate the surgeon, learn about their options, potential risks, and expected outcomes. Perhaps most importantly, it’s an opportunity for the patient to really get a sense of whether the clinic, the team and the environment are right for them.

Many clinics only offer consultations with a coordinator or nurse, and in some clinics, you may not meet your surgeon until your surgery is booked. At FORM Face + Body, Dr. Somogyi and Jalil are intimately involved in your surgical plan from the very first visit. Each surgery is entirely unique and requires an understanding of your personal goals, concerns, body composition, health, and visual aesthetic balance. Together, we will build a comprehensive, thoughtful, and thorough treatment plan.

During your consultation, we will walk you through your surgical options with visual aids to demonstrate how your surgery will change your appearance and how even the most subtle changes affect your overall aesthetic. This allows us to build an incredibly specific plan tailored to you. Visual tools, including video and photo demonstrations, give you a realistic look into what you can expect following surgery so that you can begin your journey fully confident in your team, your surgical choices and especially in your future results.

Attentive and hands-on follow-up care.

In the excitement of planning for a surgical procedure, patients don’t often think about follow-up care. High-quality follow-up care is essential to avoiding unnecessary pain and complications and ensuring positive long-term results. There isn’t a standard plan for post-operative care as every Plastic Surgeon, surgery, and recovery is different. Before patients commit to a surgeon, it’s important to consider their follow-up schedule, post-operative care, and availability for communication should you have concerns (short and long-term).

At FORM Face + Body, your health, aesthetic, goals, safety, and comfort are highly prioritized and thoughtfully managed. Our team will provide you with detailed post-operative instructions to ensure the best possible outcome for your surgery. We will discuss your recovery plan with you at your pre-op consultation, and all instructions will be given to you in detail, including scar care, medication, restrictions, and things to look out for.

Our team is here to fully support you throughout your entire surgical journey. Whether you return home on the day of your surgery or stay with us as an inpatient, you will have 24-hour access to Dr. Somogyi, Dr. Jalil, and the FORM Face + Body team.

To ensure that you’re making an informed and empowered decision, we encourage you to explore our blog, FAQ, pricing, and Pre & Post-Operative information pages to learn more.

Whether you know exactly what you’re looking for, or perhaps you need further guidance, our caring surgeons and experienced staff would be happy to answer all your questions and guide you on your journey every step of the way. Contact us now or book a virtual consultation today.
